Experience Russ has more than a decade of experience evaluating and structuring investments in private and public companies, focusing in particular on investments in emerging healthcare companies. Russ joined Dragonfly Capital in June 2008 from Merriman Curhan Ford & Co., where he oversaw research on biotechnology, biopharmaceutical and specialty pharmaceutical companies, helping to raise more than $230M in capital since 2006. Russ has been quoted extensively in leading industry publicatons, including BioCentury, BioWorld, BusinessWeek and Forbes. Prior to joining Merriman Curhan Ford & Co., Russ served as a senior research associate at Thomas Weisel Partners, covering the same industries. Prior to that, Russ served as Associate Director of Research at The Marcus & Millichap Company, conducting due diligence on potential private equity transactions and providing economic and strategic advice to its investment subsidiaries. Russ began his career as a forensic accountant at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and later as an investment research associate at Prudential.
